Calligraporn

I was thinking how wonderful it is to write colorful phrases in this graceful copperplate hand. Here’s some experimental color work done with the aid of my Petal PodTM, of course. 

Congratufuckinlations, or something to that effect was stuck in my head during last night’s calligraphy class. It’s a small class of just 4 women and we had a blast.

It’s a Petal Pod Tattoo!

I just realized while looking at my back in the mirror, that my one and only tattoo is the very same shape as the Petal Pods I’ve designed! Life comes full circle. I got that tattoo drawn around a freckle (on my fanny, I know it’s really cute) when Tommy died in 1997. It was my one answer to grief that wasn’t clouded with guilt. I celebrated myself and honored myself, my sense of humor, my femininity, my innocence all in that one little doodle of a flower, over a part of me I was born with. Tee hee!

I am experiencing  a second rebirth right now with the work I’m doing with Debra. I think it’s about time I get a second flower doodle. Hmmmmm. Thinking of a spot.

Petal Pod Advice

Which photo do you guys like best? This is a new product I designed and will be selling at Binders very soon. More info later. I love the juicy colors of the bright one, but then I think the subtle one lets the product stand out better and is a little more graceful. Your thoughts appreciated!
